Wednesday turf plays at Belmont Park

A pair of turf races at Belmont Park Wednesday are in the spotlight and both selections could be a nice price.
In the 4th race, a 1 ¼-mile turf maiden special weight, #6 Swizzle (8-1) should appreciate the added ground after a series of solid efforts over a mile at Tampa Bay Downs. She’s by Broken Vow, who shows 7.1 average winning distance from offspring, and Sizzle’s dam (who has already thrown another turf stakes winner) is a half to Marchfield, a long-distance turf specialist who posted graded wins up to 1 1/2 miles.
I like her effort two back, a rallying second that netted a 94 BRIS Late Pace number, and Sizzle displayed improved tactical speed last time. The Graham Motion-trained filly gets in light with Jose Ortiz (receiving 8-pounds from three rivals) and is eligible to sit a good trip up close before finishing strongly at distance that should hit her between the eyes. Her main rivals – Empressof the Nile (2-1), Blenheim Palace (5-2) and If You Say (3-1) -- have proved proficient at coming up short at low odds.
The 8th race lacks a standout and #3 Bargaining Table (20-1) can deliver a top showing returning to Belmont’s turf. She ran big in her last two attempts over the course, including a 16-1 upset last October, and the 7-year-old mare is cutting back to her best distance (4 wins at a mile).
Michael Miceli is off to a fast start this meet (4-1-1-1) and Bargaining Table figures to move forward off a solid tightener at Aqueduct, making her 2017 debut three weeks ago. The former claimer really came on at the end of last season and is a candidate for further improvement at this level. Bargaining Table receives weight from most rivals today and will be looking to make a serious late impact in her Belmont return.
Good luck!
