Young greyhounds to watch in April

April 6th, 2016

Welcome to another Southland monthly preview of the Five Up & Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch. April's selections consist of several hard running youngsters that have started their careers with some impressive wins and strong finishes. As you may know, the only requirement that I use in selecting the 5 up and coming young greyhounds to watch each month is that they have had no more then 10 official starts prior to being selected. I try to give updates on the progress of these selections every few months so be sure to check back for those. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagering opportunities. Please remember that BetAmerica is always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about wagering online.

Arkans Shitaki - Grade B - 7 starts - 3-1-0-1 - Talking about a hard running greyhound, he's already accumulated 3 wins which quickly has found him in B grade.  He's got a solid rush to the turn to go along with a nice move late, has shown the ability to run good from any box or any spot on the track so the future for him looks bright. Next race - Wednesday, April 6 - 11th race - 4 box starting position

Boc's Doubleshot - Grade D - 2 starts - 1-1-0-0 - Two official starts and he's got a win and a second place finish, before that, three schooling races which resulted in three wins so better keep an eye on this talented looking young greyhound. He's been the leader in all his races at the first turn due to his tremendous rush and as he gains more experience there will surely be more big efforts from him. Has an inside running style.

CTW Shadowhunter - Grade D - 2 starts - 1-1-0-0 - He's looked good in three schooling races, winning two and finishing second in the other one before running two official starts in which he won one and had a second place effort in the other. Tons of early speed to go along with an apparent mid-track running style bodes well for him as he will likely find good position with his quickness out of the box. Next race - Thursday, April 7 - 4th race - 4 box starting position

Johnny Lexus - Grade D - 3 starts - 1-0-0-0 - This might be a head scratcher selection for some greyhound fans as he's finished eighth in his last two races but I believe the talent of this young pup far outweighs a couple of bad outings. I am looking at his three schooling contests in which he had two wins and a second place effort, then backs those solid showings with a win in his first official race.

Saint - Grade D - 1 start - 1-0-0-0 - He schooled well and ran an impressive race in his first official start coming away with a 7 length win despite encountering trouble. Inside runner, big & strong, look for him to waste no time in moving up in class.
