Stakes Preview - Third Round Qualifying for PBKC's $50,000 "He's My Man Classic" Wednesday Afternoon January 9th

January 9th, 2013

Three greyhounds came through the first two rounds undefeated and they're all from the same kennel!

Rader Racing's Riverview Stevie, O Ya Chance and O Ya Pure Country will be trying to hold off the rest of the 32 entrants who have made it this far.

The action starts in Race 10 with super pup, #4 O Ya Billy Bob, fresh from his win in the Dick Andrews Futurity. Can he ace this race also and move on to the next round? My guess would be, yes. Mind you, he has plenty of competition from 3 other dogs that have sub-30 second times, so he'll have to be on his toes.

In Race 12, #4 O Ya Pure Country looks very tough to beat. I think the only one who could pull it off is the 2, CT Heartbreaker, who will be chasing him all the way.

In Race 14, there's a lot of early speed and I'm wondering if a closer might figure in the exotics. Undefeated #7, Riverview Stevie, will be gunning for the lead, but so will the dog to his right #8 Atascocita Henri and several dogs to his left. There could be a tangle or some bumping in the mad dash to the first turn, but who will come out on top?

In Race 15, #7 O Ya Chance has two very fast times in his last two races and hasn't given an inch in the first two rounds. He does look formidable, but don't count out #5 RK's Conk Gonk. This guy has won from all over the track and will be determined to take the lead. This race should be quite a contest.

While you're waiting for the stakes races, take a look at the first race, a Grade M event, where the #2, Comedian Ed, just might hit the wire first. He had a very rough trip in his last race, collided and got blocked and still managed to grab second. I was very impressed with this pup's grit and determination in that race.
