In last week’s newsletter offer we asked you to give us your opinion in regards to how you thought Gary Stevens would perform in his first day of racing back from retirement. Many of you sent us words of encouragement for Stevens, as well as expressed your confidence in his abilities as a jockey.

“I was surprised that he was coming out of retirement to ride at Santa Anita. I think he might do pretty good, if he has good mounts.”

“I think Gary will do fine. Great riders don't forget how to ride, and I think Gary wants to show everybody he can still compete at the highest level.  I think he'll pick his spots, and enjoy being back in the game. Good luck, Gary, and enjoy every moment.”

“I think it is good for racing having Gary ride again. I think he will be very selective on the horses he rides and think he will do very well in his comeback.”

“I hope Gary does well. I’m worried he may have a bad fall. Hope it does not happen. Let’s all hope for the best.”

“I THINK HE WILL WIN AT LEAST ONE RACE”

“If Gary Stevens is riding he always competes. I believe he will excel as long as he can ride.”

“OK, Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls have I got a tip for you. It’s been 30 yrs since we've had a Triple Crown Winner and I honestly believe that Gary Stevens has a plan to achieve that for all of us Horse Racing fans. Let’s think about this. This racing Icon has won the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont three times , the Preakness twice, the Santa Anita Derby 9 times ( Yes, that is not a misprint ) as well as a few other races which in fact total 4888 lifetime Wins. I predict that the Eclipse Award winning jockey will win a bunch of selective races at Santa Anita and then be chosen to ride in the Derby which he will win easily from behind , followed by a neck and neck battle Preakness victory. These two wins will set the stage for a Belmont that will draw millions of new racing fans with TV and Radio predicting a victory exceeding the great Secretariat.”

Thank you for all of your interest and excitement, it’s not difficult to see that many of you have a strong passion for the sport that goes beyond the wagering aspect of horse racing.
