An All Distance Weekend

January 13th, 2017

It’s the weekend and it time to watch, wager, and win on the best greyhounds around here at bestbet Jacksonville. Loads on talent on top and we get feature races over all three distances this weekend. That’s right, the 550, 660 and 770 variety and with each a chance to cash some tickets and take home some cash. Let’s take a closer look at the races and see if we can pick you some winners.

Friday January 13th, 2017

Race 7 – Back at home after a brief stay at Naples, Godzilla who is ready to keep the win streak going. A tough in front runner should be unabated to the lead from the red box and make quick work of this field. Pushing the pace early should be the solid grade A threat Flying Go Daddy, and the back in grade A runner, Karla Of Ruckus from the outside, and late everyone better watch out for the quick closing O Ya Casey Jones. (1-7-8-4)

Race 10 – The unstoppable Real Good Feelin gets a REAL GOOD box and that is all she will need to score her 5th victory in her last 7 starts. From the lead, or from off the pace, she is money and this post makes it even easier for her. Look for a big-time win. Setting the pace early should be the well posted Hilco Spartan, but he is no match for Feelin late. Others to consider include the quick closing threat Beachin, long with the multi-stakes finalist, who can come late as well, Sheezsohot. (8-2-6-4)

Race 15 – Over to 660 for this one as the last race before the start of the stakes that entries can compete in. One last warm up, and some of the greyhounds here need it. Who doesn’t is Pat C Dashboard. Breaking well, posted up, pushing the pace, and being determined late will get him another W in this one. Game throughout tonight will be the always stalking grade A, Gs Hal, along with the even chaser Lee Trinity. Pat C Outbounds was a puppy stakes winner that likes the route, she just needs to get back into form. From the one box, she might surprise in this one. (3-6-8-1)

Matinee – Race 7 – Matinee + Early Speed = Victory. Boc’s Andross was a winner last time out, well that was until Seldom Told decided she was not going to be one. Before that back to back wins on the front end. The best breaker here, look for her to hit the lid and control this race throughout. She won’t be along though as Tri-State ship in, and recent winner, Seeking Tim is right next door and should push the leader from start to finish. Late both better be aware of the closing styles of Scarlett and Kc’s Tess, both from the rail. (7-8-2-1)

Matinee – Race 11 – The Speed theme continues in this one. Ln Sugar is an ultimate frontender that gets the red box to boot. What a bonus! Here she will find a way to get her nose in front and hold off all comers at the wire for the slim win. Applying pressure should be the talented upstart Js Armdndangerus. This pup has won 7 of 11 starts and is looking to use the post to get back into the action. I expect him to rebound in this effort. Also, consider the moving up grade chaser Ww Standardissue and the well posted tail gate closing factor that is Foolish Chester. (1-8-7-2)

Evening – Race 3 – Experience is the key to the win in this race. Gs Viola has it in spades over this field, and with an advantageous post position, she is going to be tough to keep out of the winner’s circle in this effort. Overdue for the top spot, this chaser, does what needs to be done to win. Providing a challenge will be the other veteran O Ya Gunsmoke. Another stalking runner, 6 straight in the trifecta, expect him to push the pace throughout. Ww’s Flicka should be up front around the lead early and stay there for the duration, but don’t overlook Brutus My Name from the 1 box. This guy is tough when he breaks well, and the post might give him a chance to upset in this effort. (2-3-1-6)

Evening – Race 7 – Just like in the matinee, the theme continues in the evening with the most experienced greyhound getting the nod. I know Ww’s Sammy is a much better greyhound from the rail, but with no huge early speeder in this race, she gets room to rush and takes over control at the turn. Out close, to the lead and gone for yet another win for this multi-stakes finalist. She will not be alone though as this field is talented up and down the lineup. Flying Rose should be the biggest threat as she has only missed the quiniela once in her last 6 races. Upstart Bgr Yosemite Sam will stay close till late and so should Easi Charley from the inside. If everyone comes to run, this could be a thriller of a race. (7-8-6-3)

Evening – Race 11 – Speed duel on the front end between a trio of quality greyhounds. Pullanallnighter was a puppy stakes winner that has just kept on going. This solid grade A is a threat to win every time outs and has not missed the trifecta in 6 straight. Pushing the pace will be the returning to grade A Runner, Lee Raven, along with the solid grade A ankle burning machine Atascocita Deana. All better me mindful in the stretch as Kc’s Waltrip can hit the gas at any moment and lap the leaders late before the checkered flag is dropped. (6-7-4-2)

Evening – Race 15 – Now for the longer, longer, distance race.  The nightcap might not be a grade A event, but it is a marathon race, and everyone loves a marathon race. Here the class of the field should be C Ville C Alice. Sure, she is getting a little bit long in the tooth, but she has won grade A events over this distance and he best time is well, almost a second faster than anyone else in this race. If she gets loose, she might lap the field. Class also plays a role for the chasers. Erik The Great is down from grade B as well and has performed ok in the past over 770. Pat C Zz Top might be sprinting now, but has run 770 before as is also down from grade B. Penske Proud could be the bud longshot of the weekend. When he wants to run, and when he does run and win, it normally comes over 770 yards. (7-3-6-8)

Sunday January 15th, 2017

Race 11 – Hey Hey Daddy needs no interdiction as he was the most recent sprint stakes winner. Loads of talent here. He can win with, or without, the early lead in any race and can take down anyone here if need be to get the win. Rested and ready to go again! Watch out! Mavricks Sun is a great looking pup from Sarras that has went from grade D to grade A in just a few races. With 3 wins in 4 starts showing, and some great early speed, he might just be the one to catch in this effort. Pat C Blur is hot off an 8-length victory and should be game throughout, and don’t forget about Kk Whitezin. This old-timer might not run many over 550 yards, but she can still complete here. A huge closer at this distance. The 8 box might be just what she needs for the upset. (7-4-5-8)
