Friday Night Australia Racing Preview for 12/20/2013

December 21st, 2013

FLEMINGTON RACES – AUS B

Saturday sees the last meet at headquarters for what has been a memorable 2013. The race day itself is a pretty standard one with the exception of the two $100,000(Aus) Handicaps that take place in race 2 and 4. These are the ones we will take a brief look at in attempt to try and put some Christmas money in the wallet.

Race 2 - Red Tempo Hcp - FLASH OF DOUBT put in a great performance last run after copping an early squeeze, she was only 2L off ESPRIT DE BULLET prior when it looked to the eye she was not in the best ground and may be the overs here today. THE MINISTER gains a favourable 1.5kg swing on ESPRIT DE BULLET from their last meeting in October and did beat him home in that race (To my eye though, ESPRIT was slowly away and ultimately put in the best run of the race) THE MINISTER with D. Oliver jumping on boar has one burning query, his one straight track run was a shocker. MY SURVIVOR is usually good fresh and he will be another hope in this race. RESCUE MISSION is the final horse who can go well here, first up run he raced to keen, but he has second up form and can win this.

SELECTIONS – FLASH OF DOUBT, RESCUE MISSION, ESPRIT DE BULLET

Race 4 - Fiesta Star Hcp – This is an open affair with a fair few chances. PILLAR OF CREATION was wide/good fresh and has the all-important straight form, that form also ties in ABOUT SQUARE and RIGHT TO ROAM who are both 1st-up, and clearly are good enough! SPENDING was a pretty good 2nd to She Can Skate fresh last prep at Caulfield then was just touched out  in Stakes grade here 2nd-up.

OLTRE FINITO looks promising (gate 1 may be a problem?); BALACLAVA LADY (is good enough); INNOCENT HERO and BIAN DIVINE are hopes too.
