Australia Racing Preview for 3/13/2014

Friday night racing is back on at the valley, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief and get to making ourselves a bankroll for the weekend! Graded racing at Royal Randwick tomorrow so we need a good night and there is some good racing here!

MOONEE VALLEY – AUS A

RACE 4 – LISTED CHANDLER MACLEOD ST ALBANS STAKES 1200m of $120000 (AUS)

Good race and not many without some hope. All the debutantes have shown ability at the official trials. ORUJO will be tough to beat. He was most impressive at Bendigo after a good return at Flemington. The form around both starts this prep stood up strongly in the Sires Produce last week. There can't be much between HUSSON EAGLE and BRING ME THE MAID after their good debuts at Flemington. Both are drawn for good runs. WAR POINT and WILDERNESS might be best of the first starters.

RACE 5 - ESSENDON MAZDA 55 SECOND CHALLENGE HEAT 16 955m of $55000 (AUS)

The bottom two definitely have speed but whether it's city class 955m speed remains to be seen. LATEVA ran to her true form last time. A repeat will see her go close. BRILLIANT BISC appeals as a 955m horse. She's going to find this a lot easier. She's never had 4 runs in prep so just have to hope she's still going ok. SIWA LADY should be ready to fire now. RACE 6 – GRADE 2 SPORTINGBET ALISTER CLARK STAKES 2040m of $220000 (AUS)

Good race. Like the lead up form of SURGE AHEAD. At 1600m the Australian Guineas horses were too sharp for him but he still ran well. At 2040m think he'd be competitive with them yet it's only he, LATE CHARGE and BARDEM who come through that race. LATE CHARGE was terrific after covering ground. He's just got to run 2040m. BARDEM disappointed. CADILLAC MOUNTAIN impressed 1st up. SCRATCHY BOTTOM gives impression 2040m will suit.

RACE 7 – LISTED ADAPT AUSTRALIA ABELL STAKES 1200m of $120000 (AUS)

Down page, the better chances might be LE BONSIR (great MV horse, drawn well if inside ok), IT IS WRITTEN (good MV horse drawn for a good run off speed), GO THE KNUCKLE (going to get the speed on to suit), ZEDI KNIGHT (drawn to advantage), ELITE ELLE (but pressure),SNITZEM (the last bit is the query), SOLSAY (far too genuine to leave out), MANDLA (barrier is tricky) and DESERT WIZARD (sure to be charging, 1200m??). It's tough.
