Australia Racing Preview for 3/20/2014

Friday night and everything is going to be alright….we have Grade 1 racing at Moonee Valley with the William Reid and it’s a good night to start that bank for the weekend! Rosehill Gardens is putting on a huge day with no less than 8 Graded stakes races on Saturday so we are going to have to be on our game!
MOONEE VALLEY – AUS A
RACE 4 – LISTED SCHWEPPES ALEXANDRA STAKES 1600m of $120000 (AUS)
There's no doubt SOLICIT is the one to beat but wondered if GIRL IN FLIGHT on a win/place basis was a better way to go. Love the improvement she made from her first to second run this prep and we know she'll sprint strongly at the end of 1600m. She's drawn for a soft run than last start. SOLICIT is also looking for the 1600m now. She'll cope no problems with her 58kg....no knock at all. MARIANNE, SUAVITO (awkward draw), MISS ROSE de LAGO have claims

RACE 6 – GRADE 2 SPORTINGBET SUNLINE STAKES 1600m of $220000 (AUS)
Strong race. Of the better chances, FLORIA maps really well. Her return was good and expect even better here at the 1600m distance. CORONATION SHALLAN is the one who is still has not reached her full potential. When she looks under pressure she just keeps finding and that may suggest she wants the further ground of the 1600m. She can measure up. YOU'RE SO GOOD is drawn for a good run. She looks like she is back in the swing this prep. TEXT'N HURLEY is really in the zone at the moment. If they can run on tonight, she will be and strongly. GOLDSLICK can improve.

RACE 7 – GRADE 1 WFA HACER GROUP WILLIAM REID STAKES 1200m of $400000 (AUS)
Great race this edition of the William Reid. Expect THUMP to lead them as the rest all look to be "with cover" jobs. THUMP can win if it’s favouring leaders. Her only start here was a most impressive win in fast time. If fellow 3yo filly, GREGERS can be competitive in an Oakleigh Plate (which is the right form) then THUMP can win this race. GREGERS can be a danger. She's good around MV. SPIRIT OF BOOM deserves to win one but has an awkward gate. SAMAREADY maps very well. Can't write her off yet. SHAMEXPRESS and FAWKNER for any multiples.
