Australia Racing Preview for 3/27/2014

Friday racing will take us to Cranbourne so we can start to make sure the wallets are a little thicker in anticipation for the superb racing that is approaching this weekend. So let’s just take a look at a few races and see what we can find to get the ball rolling.
CRANBOURNE – AUS A
RACE 5 - PROCON DEVELOPMENTS F&M 0 - 64 HANDICAP 1000m Of $17500 (AUS)
The speed looks quick on paper for this affair. Blinkers go on FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS. Like her back to 1000m and she appeals as one who can sit off them and be strong. JEMERICA had excuses last start and it must be said she was good in a race of this class first up. KOCHAMMA trialled well on Monday. She can find a nice position from gate two and should challenge. NEVER PEGASUS looks dangerous from gate one and I would assume that she is ready to go for this. RETURN JOURNEY is probably next best.

RACE 6 - BROWNS SAWDUST & SHAVINGS SHOWCASE BM78 HANDICAP 2025m Of $30000 (AUS)
HEEZ BORN LUCKY should be the likely leader for this event. The imported HAYLAMAN did enough at his first Australian start. 2025m 2nd up will suit with a senior rider taking over. COSENTINO hasn't won a race this prep but this may be his best chance. He had his chance at Stony Creek, didn’t get the prize but I must concede he ran well. He's drawn for a good run. PRESENT ARMS has a light weight chance. Did not think he appreciated the blinkers last start and surprised to see they have stayed on, maybe a change? SECOND KING strips fitter. HEEZ BORN LUCKY is next best.

RACE 7 - TAB.COM.AU SHOWCASE BM70 HANDICAP 1200m Of $30000 (AUS)
Handy race this showcase event. RICH JACK should lead. Songspur will keep him company. RICH JACK is better placed at 1200m around Cranbourne. He's a natural runner. If he runs to his effort Cox Plate Day in a good field he should win. SENOR JUEZ appeals getting out to the 1200m for the first time. BEL SEAL is fit and flying and gets the handy claim. LONROCKSTAR was good at Stony Creek 1st up. WILDEBEAST and TAAT SENSATION best of the others. If it's wet this race becomes tricky.
