/Australia Racing Preview for 3/7/2014

What an amazing days races at Flemington today! Headlined by the two autumn classics, the Lexus Newmarket Stakes and the Darley Australian Cup. Throw in a few more graded stakes and it’s a great place to make some money.

FLEMINGTON – AUS A

RACE 3 – GRADE 2 HENRY BUCKS SIRES' PRODUCE STAKES 1400 of $220000 (AUS)

MALAGUERRA and ZULULAND crossed the line together in the Blue Diamond, both looked in need of 1400m to my eye there, they get that today! BOOMWAA worked up on a strong speed yet still beat them both home, the run was super, he can win here and looks guaranteed a softer run. MARCADO won well on debut beating Orujo who then bolted in. AWESOME ROCK looked very good at Lakeside. STRATUM STAR wants 1400m and may be at very long odds.

RACE 4 – GRADE 3 SCHWEPPERVESCENCE TROPHY 1600m Of $150000 (AUS)

TEXT'N HURLEY was a good thing beaten two-back when just missed FIVE ALL (who then won G3) and now meets her 6kg better. Back in distance is the  only tiny query. ARE THERE ANY is a must on that same form line. BONARIA was made 'Run Of The Day' fresh then too strong 2nd-up, yeah she has 58.5kg but meets HI BELLE better at the weights for beating her. Mile no issue ANGELIC LASS as only leader is a must, her one mile run was very good!

RACE 5 – GRADE 2 TAB KEWNEY STAKES 1400M  Of $220000 (AUS)

SOLICIT impressed 1st-up, she was hardly left alone yet far too good, on times/sectionals her race rated as well as the males (Hucklebuck/ Criterion etc) in Hayes Stks later that day. SUAVITO…willing to bet she has come on from last prep when competitive with SOLICIT and May's Dream etc. MISS ROSE DE LAGO gets it softer here than she did in the Typhoon Tracy and this weight scale suits her better. MARIANNE and STAR FASHION are serious hopes too.

RACE 6 – GRADE 1 LEXUS NEWMARKET HANDICAP 1200m Of $1000000  (AUS)

Great race. UNPRETENTIOUS drew 1 in Lightning Stks at 1000m/WFA, this race is 1200m, handicap (drops 5.5kg), and he draws out to swoop on them, he looks great value/overs. SAMAREADY found the (fast) 1000m too sharp in Lightning, her last 200m split was race-fastest, her last 2nd-up run she sailed by Buffering in probably the best sprint win of last Spring. Weights do her no favours though. SHAMEXPRESS beat her home in & meets her 2kg better. LANKAN RUPEE is ''rating'' through the roof and a must but 8 of last 9 winners are through Lightning Stks. BERNABEU gets another go! FLAMBERGE blowout

RACE 7 – GRADE 1 DARLEY AUSTRALIAN CUP 2000M of $1000000 (AUS)

SHAMUS AWARD beat FIORENTE in last year's Cox Plate however FIORENTE was on a Melbourne Cup mission and 4th-up there (his run was outstanding), today he is 2nd-up coming off a tough return win and does have significant weight advantage from that clash at the WFA scale. STAR ROLLING gave a huge sight there and measured up well. FORETELLER was the best closer. Wary VOLEUSE DE COEURS who (reportedly) has settled in to Oz now. GREEN MOON and MOURAYAN are chances too.

RACE 8 – GRADE 2 INCOGNITUS BLAMEY STAKES 1600m of $220000 (AUS)

SERTORIUS ran a great race 1st-up after blowing the start, his 2nd-up form is good, his mile form is good, in fact, he just never lets you down! FOUNDRY's Oz debut win was very good, the step to 1600m is ideal. SWEET AS BRO jumps quickly to 58kg but maps well and beat one who is airborne last time. LIDARI ran very well G2 WFA behind Fiorente 2nd-up last prep, his fresh run behind SERTO- RIUS was a forgive job and he has 4kg swing, the value? Wary STIPULATE here too!
