Bit Of A Legend N Sharp in Molson

May 27th, 2017

After enjoying only moderate success and finishing fourth in the George Morton Levy series final last month as the dominant, defending champion of that event, Bit Of A Legend N regained his winning ways in sharp fashion on Friday night in the $150,000 Molson Pace at Western Fair Raceway in Canada.

Sent out as the solid 4-5 favorite from the rail, Bit Of A Legend N (Jordan Stratton) left to secure good early position behind Evenin of Pleasure, quarter moved to command, rolled by the midway mark in 55.3, shook loose from Night Pro down the backside and edged clear from Evenin Of Pleasure and Sunfire Blue Chip to score by three  lengths in 1:51.3.

Trained by Peter Tritton for owner Harry Von Knoblauch, Bit Of A Legend N notched his third win from 10 starts and pushed his seasonal earnings toward $215,000. He now owns 36 wins from 101 career outings with lifetime earnings of $1.6 million.

Bit Of A Legend N may not have been as sharp in the 2017 edition of the Levy series as he had been one year earlier, but his victory in the Molson suggests he will be formidable in many of the open stakes this summer and fall including the $250,000 Gerrity Memorial at Saratoga, the $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial at Harrington Raceway and the $100,000 Potomac Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.
