Dover Downs Offers Final Thursday Card of 2016
It may not officially mark the end of the calendar year nationwide or the end of the track's prolonged winter-spring meet that ends in April, but Thursday evening Dover Downs will offer its final card of 2016 with a solid program that will highlight the best older and younger pacers on the Delaware circuit.
In the second race on the card, Looms The Danger (Ross Wolfenden) will look to end the season on a winning note, finally, as he seeks his first tally in 27 tries for trainer Harold Savage while starting from the rail in a non-winners of three races lifetime event for five-year-old and under pacers. But his main danger comes from the far outside in the form of Mister Indiana (Victor Kirby), who has won twice in 16 starts this year and sports a 1:53.4 mark, while the lightly raced Scranton (Allan Davis) seeks his second win in 10 tries this year for trainer Robert Short.
One race later in a non-winners of four races or $17,501 lifetime class for five-year-old and under pacers, Sonny At The Beach (Kirby) brings a solid 3-3-4 slate and $38,000 bankroll from just 11 outings this year for trainer Bryan Truitt, while Big Bucks Bo (Toby Lynch, Jr.) has already won four times in eight starts and gets post nine in the second tier. Railbound Shootin To Kill (Davis) sports a 3-5-4 slate and $23,500 bankroll from 21 starts this year for Wayne Givens and certainly merits respect in this spot.
Two races later in a non-winners of $13,001 last six starts class for older pacers, Getitoffyourchest (Wolfenden) draws the rail and will be seeking to regain the form that made him a dominant force at the Harrington Raceway spring meet for trainer Richard Lewis. But the talented Sentencing Memo (Russell Foster) already boasts 10 wins from 22 starts this year, while Totally Kissed (Montrell Teague), Rock N Roll Jet (Bret Brittingham) and Feel Like A Fool (Tim Tetrick) both deserve a glimpse in this event.

But railbound Wakizashi Hanover (Tetrick) has ample back class for King and was recently third in the $100,000 Potomac Pace at Rosecroft Raceway in his continued comeback. Dancin Yankee (Tony Morgan), Bettor's Edge (Matt Kakaley), Sweet Rock (Davis) and Bushwacker (Corey Callahan) all loom serious contenders in the feature.

But just to his outside are serious contenders Papa Ray (Davis), Rock N Roll World (Kakaley), Flem N Em N (Tetrick) and Soto (Art Stafford, Jr.) who arrives with 11 wins and nearly $124,000 banked from 35 tries this year for trainer Eric Ell of JL Cruze fame.
