Eight-year-old Sole Power, in his fifth run at the World Cup, finally broke through in the Al Quoz Sprint, delivering a blistering late run to post a strong victory under Richard Hughes.
Trained by Eddie Lynam, the eight-year-old champion showed the marked improvement that was expected by his connections, mowing down his rivals to win comfortably in the end.
The deserving winner breaks a string of favorites dominating the early part of the card and could be a steppingstone of what is to come in the final four races of the day, which all appear to be super competitive.
Gave a shout out to Sole Power last night (“Rumblings before the big event” twinspires.com blog)…and our international expert Kellie Reilly also liked his chances.
