Forever Unbridled too classy for Beldame rivals

With jockey Joel Rosario in the irons, the four-year-old lass tracked in fifth while running in the two path down the backstretch as Paola Queen set the pace through splits of :23.34, :49.03 and 1:14.06. Rosario angled Forever Unbridled even wider rounding the turn, and the bay daughter of Unbridled’s Song hit the lane out in the five path.
That didn’t stop the 3-5 favorite as she effortlessly grabbed command and pulled away to stop the clock in 1:50.24 for 1 1/8 miles over the muddy, sealed surface.
Forever Unbridled paid $3.50 for the win, her first since taking the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) on April 15 at Oaklawn Park. Tiger Ride took second at 14-1 while 9-1 Penwith followed by 2 3/4 lengths. It was another three parts of a length back to 7-2 second choice Off the Tracks. Going for Broke, Rachel’s Temper and Paola Queen completed the order under the wire.
Forever Unbridled is now 13-5-3-3, $1,411,600, in her career. She capped off a three-race win streak in the Apple Blossom that also included the Comely Stakes (G3) and Houston Ladies Classic (G3). She ran second and third, respectively, in the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1) and Personal Ensign Stakes (G1) after the Apple Blossom and got bakck to her winning ways in this spot.
The Kentucky-bred miss is out of 2006 Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine Lemons Forever, making her a full sister to Grade 1 victress Unbridled Forever.

Joel Rosario, jockey Forever Unbridled, winner: "It was a good trip. She's not quick (out of the gate) but she broke OK. I ended up being very close to the lead because they were going very slow. I was just trying to take my time with her, not turn her loose and stay on the outside. I could feel she was getting over the track very good."
Dallas Stewart, trainer Forever Unbridled, winner: "The rain just drove me nuts. If you looked at the weather the last three days, I almost had her on a van and got her out of here. They said like three inches of rain and you don't want to get into a bad racetrack going into the Breeders' Cup, but they kept changing the forecast, things got better. So, thank God, we left her here. The track superintendent did a great job with how good the track looks.
"This filly, I think there's more to come, I really do. I just think she's going to get better and better and hopefully we'll get to run her next year. She's just a great race mare. She's tough, she really is. So long as she comes back good and everything's good (she'll run in the Breeders' Cup Distaff [G1]), it's a great race and we're going to be right in there with them and give them a fight. There's going to be a lot of tough (horses) in there, and she's one of them."
