Four More MDSS Events Kick Off Thursday Card at Rosecroft
As was the case with the Tuesday card at Rosecroft, the Thursday program will begin with a quartet of non-betting $40,000 Maryland Sire Stakes finals - in this case for three-year-olds of both gaits and genders - then will dive into an overnight program that could have several upset plays.
Thursday's first MDSS final for three-year-old colt trotters features Speed It (Brian Burton) who has won nine of 13 starts this year and 14 of 20 lifetime outings for owner-trainer Richard Hans. Then one race later another trotter with a pacing sire, Rock The Game, is the obvious choice in the MDSS final for three-year-old filly trotters having posted a 7-2-3 slate and $63,000 bankroll from 15 starts this year.

What I Say Goes is winless from 10 starts this year after taking six of eight starts at age two.
Thursday's opening parimutuel event for pacing fillies and mares that are non-winners of $2500 last five starts, Casimir Jubilee (Milby) will leave from post three for owner-trainer Brittany Bounds, but Pearl Handlepistol (Jonathan Roberts) will be a factor throughout the mile from post nine for owner-trainer George "Ronnie" Leager of Sudlersville with Annie McVicar (Roger Plante, Jr.) figuring to make her presence known late despite missing a week.

Then one race later in a competitive and contentious edition of the $12,000 Filly-Mare Open Handicap, Dublin Rose (Roberts) will seek her second straight tally for trainer Michael Hall despite post eight, while Seeking Nirvana (Timmy Offutt), Rhapsody Rose, Sweet Bobbie and Cape Marj will all be closing late. Let Her Rock (Milby) double jumps in class after a 1:55 score last week in her local debut for trainer Bruce Saunders.
Then one race later in a non-winners of $4000 last five starts class for pacing fillies and mares, Lyonssweetie (Roberts) goes in quest of her second straight score for Leager and owner Frank Miller, Jr. of Still Pond, while Heres My Ticket (Plante) looms a serious contender from post five and Cedar Hall Princess (Milby) merits consideration from post nine in the second tier. Don'tforgetmysugar (Justin Vincent) steps up off a 1:54.3 win here last week.
