Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 4/11/2014

The weekend gets started with 15 Matinee races Friday at Palm Beach. Some of the best racers this track has to offer will be running in two very competitive Grade A races on the back of the card. Here are the top races I will be following for the afternoon of greyhound racing at “The Beach.”
Race 11 Grade B 545 Yards
I always love the combo of the top grade racers dropping down to “B” and they get their favorite box to fire out of. #1 Pat C Samurai is doing just that in this one. Has won the last two times out of this box in the lower class and has the fastest overall time (29.54 sec) out of this group. One of my favorite plays of the day. #7 Palm City Jade from B & B Racing should be near the front at the turn and has a good chance of hitting your ticket.

Race 12 Grade 12 545 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt. Three of the best 545 yard racers here at Palm Beach go toe to toe in this one. #6 Pat C Dark Ciena from the Koppe, Stats & Collins Team has been red hot in the past two months, with top 2 finishes in 5 of her last 6 races. Rare combo of dynamic rush and solid close. Her main threats for the win will be #4 CRT Yusef going for season win #21 and #8 Kiowa Carmen who has been running consistently under 30 secs in this class. All three of these dogs should hit the ticket. Like Ciena as a win/place play with the way she is flying. #5 Magic England is getting a chance in the top grade and is trying for 4 W’s in a row.

Race 14 Grade B 660 Yards
The action turns to the Pat C Rendezvous 3/8ths Mile Course in this one. #5 Princess Bula will pop the lid for the lead in this race but has been a bit short on the homestretch. That’s when you start looking for closers at this distance and #2 Atascocita Hussy from Suncoast Racing is exactly who I found. Has the prime inside box and has won 40% of her races already in her young career. Look out for #4 Kiowa Magnetic, who just posted a 37.83 sec blazer two races back.

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
Is she ready to go on a winning streak? #8 JS SpeedyPebbles from owner Shannon Henry has 20 wins in just 32 races this season (63%,) good for one of the best winning percentages of any greyhound. Really like her to win this based on the fact that every time she has won since December, has followed it up with another W the next time out. Also undefeated all time out of this box (3 times.)
