Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 6/25/2014
by Palm Beach Jason
Back at one of the greatest greyhound tracks in the country The Palm Beach Kennel Club for the Wednesday racing action. 15 excellent races to watch and follow all afternoon long. With just one full week left in the 2013-2014 season, how many more storylines will happen at the track?
Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 1 Grade J 545 Yards
Usually I don’t get too excited about the lower class races unless there is a hot puppy prospect in it. Today, there are two of them in this race, both from top Kennel Rader Racing.
#4 Sabotage looked stellar last time out, winning by nearly 10 lengths to end the Maiden Madness. Sitting mid-track again, he looks primed to get back to back wins here.
Will see a challenge from #1 Uma Thurman. Good first step out of the box and has already gone under 30 secs twice in her young racing career. Should absolutely make the ticket here.
Sabotage bests his Kennel mate and continues to move up the grade ladder.
Picks 4-1-5-7
Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards
The race of the day without a doubt.
#2 Pat C Just Up from owner Patrick Collins jumped off the race sheet at me here. Has two wins this month out of this same 2 box, and both were well under 30 secs wins. The veteran obviously loves the inside rail position and should be able to get out in front early and hold it.
#8 Superior Rainey also draws her favorite outside box, as she blazed a 29.85 secs win last time out in this same setup.
Top rookie #7 CRT Qadeer makes his first appearance in Grade A. Has 5 wins already in his very young career and looks to be very promising going into next season for The Champions Racing Team.
Pat C Just Up gets season win #11 after winning in this one.
Picks: 2-8-1-6
Race 14 Grade B 545 Yards
The A hound dropping down in class is #2 Superior Philly. Was in my May Top 10 Rankings but has been a bit pedestrian running with the big dogs at Palm Beach in June. The grade drop should help Philly get back on track here.
One of the biggest early speedsters going right now at Palm Beach is
#7 Trey Magnifique. Has had the lead at the curve in all 6 of his career races here and is going for his fourth straight in this one. The class may be too much in this race to overcome, but I do like the B & B Racing rookie star to hit the ticket.
Philly gets back to Grade A where he belongs after this race.
Picks 2-7-3-1
Top Pick Race 6- #4 Pat C Shyne
