Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach for 6/4/2014

Updated:

by Palm Beach Jason

The superstars of Palm Beach will be on display for the Wednesday afternoon racing.  The best middle distance racer here Flying The Who goes for season win #17 in Race 10 and one of the hottest puppies here Juggernaut looks to win four straight in Race 14.  Will be a fantastic card to watch and enjoy all afternoon long.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards

The drag race with a twist, also known as the super sprint has an excellent play to go for in this one. In this mixed TA field full of Grade B racers, only one of these sprinters is actually in the top class. #8 Liberty Trail from The Champions Racing Team has 14 wins on the season and is setup to smoke this field in a favorable 8 box for a wide runner.

Possible upset could come right next door to Liberty Trail in the 7 box Dena’s Mechele.  Had a 3 race winning streak snapped last time out and is a hot puppy prospect, already blazing a 16.80 secs run a couple of weeks ago.

Liberty Trail outclasses this field for the W.

Picks: 8 - 7 - 2 - 6

Race 10 Grade A 660 Yards

Today on the 20th Anniversary of Pat C Rendezvous breaking the world record of 33 wins in a row, how fitting that the #1 660 yard racer at Palm Beach takes to the very course that “Rhonda” was so historic.

#1 Flying The Who from owner Vince Berland has been just dominant since the 3/8ths Mie Derby ended and all the competition left for Southland Park. Has won 7 of 8 and now gets the prime inside box to fire from. Should win this race but will see a good field to contend with here.

#8 Kiowa Kay Fannie and #2 Princess Bula both blistered the course last time out in 37.94 secs, resulting in both of them getting a rare deadheat win.  Both have good rushes and may contend early to make things interesting.  I like them both in any Tri/Super plays.

Flying The Who gets her 4th win in a row and continues her reign as top racer at this distance.

Picks: 1 - 2 - 8 - 7

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

The one to watch in this one is #5 Juggernaut from B & B Racing.

The Puppy Stakes runner-up in my opinion is the best on the 545 yard course right now. Won 5 times in May and broke 30 seconds in all 6 races he was in. Very impressive racer to watch.

One of the best names at Palm Beach #3 Mad Holy Schmidt has won two of three and has a great shot of hitting the ticket here.

The Juggernaut rolls on to season win #14.

Picks: 5 - 6 - 4 - 8

Top Pick Race 10- #1 Flying The Who
