Race 3 - Grade M - 583 yard course - I'm going with the (8) KL's Harvey as the key here. He only has two schooling races to go by but he does have two wins in those and one of those was an impressive seven length romp. Good early speed and a strong finish down the stretch should have him ahead at the wire. The (5) Dutch Blitz will be his main challenger and will be coming from behind with a big late move that bears watching. To finish the play, I'll use the (3) Arkans Jayce who had three nice schooling races though in his two official starts has encountered much trouble, I do think he may be ready to run here however. The  (2) Slatex Florian shows a nice early rush and could find some running room if he has a good break.

Pick 8-5-3-2

Race 6 - Grade B - 583 yard course - I like the (5) CBJ Bentley to get back to his winning ways in this one, he has fallen on tough times lately and I'm hoping he takes charge early by getting out fast and setting the pace. He will be vying for the lead with the (6) Yolando Frosty as she has good early speed and these two should do battle right out of the box as they battle for the front. Sitting just where he wants to be, don't overlook the (8) Sakkara Me O My as he is posted well for his mid to wide running style and he does have a good rush to the turn so if the frontrunners happen to have early trouble, he could very well be the greyhound who benefits the most. Finishing the ticket, I'll put in the (1) Flying Dyson who is the class of the race and may find a running lane that opens up for him.

Pick 5-6-8-1

Race 9 - Grade B - 583 yard course - The key here is the (6) SE's High Onlife who in her first six races since arriving at Southland has six top four finishes including two wins. She is proving with each race that she can run on this track so with that kind of consistency she's always going to be a threat. The competition will be tough though and one of the main challenges should come from the (7) JK Wish who has been a winner in 7 of his sixteen races during this meet. He has shown good early speed and may break well enough to get clear early and can't be overlooked despite the wide post he's drawn. The (8) Slatex Frio also has good speed right out of the box and he will be challenging as well for the lead. To complete the play, I will use the (2) Mega Velocity is posted well for his inside running style.

Pick 6-7-8-2

The MoneyMaker play of the evening is in the 2nd race, a Grade D contest over the 660 yard course and the pick is the (8) Par Demander. I like this greyhound as he has 11 top four finishes in eighteen races and is well posted for his mid to wide running style having drawn the eight box. In his first race over this distance last time out, he ran a respectable fourth despite trouble. I believe the odds will be good on him here and he's well worth a shot as he has shown some early speed and also good closing ability.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
