Greyhound Preview - SOUTHLAND 9/3/14

September 2nd, 2014

By MoneyMaker Mike

Race 9 - Grade AA - 583 yards - Despite trouble in the last two races, the key here is the (2) Flying Titanium. This extremely talented has 23 wins this season alone and looking to rebound from a fall last time out and a troubled trip the time before that and I believe he gets the job done. The (1) Quick Reply likes the inside and having the rail poses a strong challenge. He is going for his fourth win in five races and should be among the early leaders. The (4) CBJ Kitkat looked good in his return to the track after being off for two months and responded with a win in his first race back. Finishing the play I'll use the (7) Ace High who with his good rush may be able to find a running lane early.

Pick 2-1-4-7

Race 11 - Grade C - 583 yards - I'm going with the (8) Chase Liberty as the key in this one as he has good early speed and with a decent break should be the frontrunner right out of the box. He has faded on occasions but I think he gets a big enough lead here where he will hold on for the win. The (1) T's Highway Man is a double drop greyhound and with the two going mid to wide, he should have running room early in which to get good position in which to make his move. The (4) Macho Hero has been running hard lately as evidenced by his six straight top four finishes and can't be overlooked. To finish out the tri and superfecta plays, I'll include the (2) E Ore who likes it mid to wide as he may try to go early from his inside post.

Pick 8-1-4-2

Race 18 - Grade AA - The key here is the (1) Bold Deceiver who with her good early speed should be challenging for the front right out of the box. There is a lot of early speed in this race but I think she can avoid early trouble and find a running lane in which to make her move. The (2) Kay Rock Sweet will also be vying for the front early and along with the (5) RCK Amazon will provide the strongest competition for Bold Deceiver. The (8) L's Prescott likes it mid-track and I'll include him because of his late speed and closing ability should there be any trouble among the frontrunners.

Pick 1-2-5-8

The MoneyMaker play of the evening is in the 5th race, a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course and the pick is the (5) Oshkosh Angela who has encountered much trouble of late and who is coming off an almost two week layoff and should be well rested and ready to go. She did look good in a schooling race win and having dropped from AA to A grade along with the time off, could be the edge she needs. She's well worth a play here. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
