Greyhound Preview: Southland for 4/10/2014
by Moneymaker Mike
Thursday's twilight card brings the potential for some exciting finishes and big payoffs and will be full of young greyhounds showing their abilities. Good luck and thanks for reading.
Race 1- In this grade D race over the 660 yard course I am going with the (8) Boc's Snow Doc who likes it wide and who shows a win out of the 8 box in this same grade just 3 races ago. Another greyhound who is posted well is the inside running and double drop (1) Slatex Cyclone, she will be a threat to win it as well. Rounding out the tri and superfecta plays I will use the (3) Rio Bravo and the (2) Holly's Ranger.
Picks: 8 - 1 - 3 - 2
Race 2 - Here we have a grade C race over the 660 yard course and the mid track (6) KB'S Darth Vader is the choice. He was running AA grade in Feb so his class and post position should be the difference here. Drawing the inside box should be a big help for the (1) SE'S Trego Train who is also a double drop greyhound. I also like the (5) Otto Luger whose running style is mid to wide and who has been the betting favorite his last 4 races while winning one of them. Finishing the ticket I will use the (8) Hummer Express.
Picks: 6 - 1 - 5 - 8
Race 8 - Time for a grade C race over the 583 yard course and also time for the (3) AMF Rap Singer to use his class to get his first win of the season. Though he has been having trouble getting around the 1st turn lately I like him to avoid trouble here and make a strong move late to get the job done. In the hunt also I have to use the up and coming young pup the (7) GS Bruno who likes to go early and has shown the ability to run good from any box. The (4) Flying Assassin is an invader from Derby Lane and she just ran a very nice schooling race winning by 7 lengths. Worth a shot for the tri and superfecta plays is the (9) Bella Atlas.
Picks: 3 - 7 - 4 - 9
Race 12 - Also a grade C race over the 583 yard course, I like the inside running (1) Macho Hero to fire out fast and be in good postion to get the win. Also a threat to go early and with decent post position is the (2) GS Smiley who broke well last time but unfortunately encountered trouble on the turn. Look for a better race from him this time out. In the chase as well will be the (5) Blazing, this greyhound gives a nice effort each time out and I wouldn't be surprise to see him battling down the stretch for the win. Also worth a look is the (4) HL'S Joey.
Pick: 1 - 2 - 5 - 4
Tonight's Moneymaker play is in the 17th race over the 583 yard course and is the (2) Boc's Delko.
Good luck to everyone!
