Greyhound Preview: Southland for 4/16/2014
by Moneymaker Mike
This evening's card is a very competitive one and it should also bring some very good prices as well. With that in mind we will include some nice longshots to hit the board. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 3 - In this grade M race over the 583 yard I am going with the (7) BL Rage who finished second in her first official race last time out and who should go early here. I also like the (3)M'S Angle Cagey as he may also try for the lead right out of the box and who also shows some closing speed. The (1) HL'S Oakley has run third in her first two races, likes the inside and must be used on the ticket along with the (5) Slatex Fiji.
Picks: 7 - 3 - 1 - 5
Race 12 - Here is a grade C race over the 583 yard course and I am staying with the double drop (7) Slatex Cheetos one more time. He has shown some moments of getting back to form after being off for a month or so and I am hoping this trip does it for him. The (6) Macktheknife is a good looking young pup who encountered much trouble last race and is capable of a big run here as he has won two of his last five races. I will use the (5) Macho Hero and the midtrack running (8) Whiskey Breeze to finish out my tri and superfecta plays.
Picks: 7 - 6 - 5 - 8
Race 14 - Another 583 yard course race is a grade D contest and it's a race where I like the (8) Surf About. She has 3 wins from the outside posts and I look for her to avoid trouble this time out and win a close one at the wire. The (1) Slatex Cyclone is a double drop distance runner who is back on the short course here and shouldn't be overlooked. The (2) Bob's Radar likes the inside and I will include the (5) RCK Goldn Missle for a big money shot at the tri's and superfectas.
Picks: 8 - 1 - 2 - 5
Race 17 - This is a grade A distance race over the 660 yard course and the (8) KL'S Suede is the choice here as I believe he gets back to his winning ways against this field. The (2) Flyin Pink Floyd had a win in his sights last time out but was caught in the stretch, he will doing his best to avoid a repeat performance. The (3) Kay Matt Kim likes to go early and will no doubt make a challenge for the lead and I will use the hard closing (5) AMF VirginiaSlim to complete my tri and superfecta plays.
Picks: 8 - 2 - 3 - 5
This evening's Moneymaker play is in the 15th race a grade A contest over the 583 yard course and is the wide running (6) Carrigfergus.
