Harness Racing: Hoosier Park harness plays for June 30, 2021

(Each week, Cotolo employs money-management tactics to build wagers that focus on plump profits.)

For the program June 30 at Hoosier Park, we suggest some horses for selected plays that may fit in any type of wager.

Race 2

This uneven field of poor 2021 results may negate the concept of class. This is why the step-up break of #6 Milford Shmilford at 25-1 need be ignored, allowing us to rely on his two efforts before that—a win and a second.

The poor competition makes #8 Go Randy Go look good again. He has raced well enough to include as a contender here, where some have already raced behind him.

Race 5

Percentage-wise, #4 Select Friday is doing well around this level and Lyle Scurlock is also cashing some checks with stock so if the morning line (ML) is accurate around 9-2 then this Rockin Image sophomore is a true overlay.

A longshot contender surfaces with LA Tomcat (ML is 20-1). Two back he was a beaten favorite at this conditioned level and if he reverts to the speed he showed on May 26 all bets are on.

Race 8

We were bullish on the recent two efforts from #Wal Finest (96-1 and111-1) and he came around last week in his third 2021 appearance. He is being respected now with a ML of 9-2 and may have found his winning spot en route to better classes.

A higher price (ML of 10-1) than we feel measure his chances makes #7 Rigged Account a strong contender. This is only his fourth race this season and he is improving.

Race 9

We are fans and followers when it comes to the progeny of Manofmanymissions. His offspring inherited his racing character—win or break. Here, #4 Livin The Blues returns to Indiana from Michigan where he qualified like a champ—like his sire. Otherwise, he gallops. Manofmanymission kids pay off when they stay on gait and this is only the gelding’s first of the season. (Hunch players may add the fact that Livin The Blues is a great and underappreciated Bob Dylan song.)

For those not thinking mega-profit cashing, #6 Queen Of All is the obvious choice, though she is facing boys and we would want her to be third at best over the aforementioned gelding and #7 Fearless Tom. He is a terrific place bet for exactas in this ghostly mile.

Race 11

Two-year-old pacers hit the track and we love the risks involved in these green affairs. We endorse taking leaps of faith in frosh pacers and trotters that are not proven losers and whose bare racing experiences shout promise. For these reasons we fully endorse #8 Luck Be With Tina. Her recent win was a dead heat at a fair meet for purse only. She shared the win in a 2:00 in a photo finish. That was a great improvement over her two other Indiana-fair wins of 2:04.2 and 2:03.2. She goes up against faster finishers but not at fairs, where a bet supported by faster speeds than on pair-mutuel tracks fuels the faith needed to make the difference in a big win price (her ML is 15-1).

Breeding is a major element for #4 She Means Business. The Pet Rock filly is endowed with speed and style and could make her debut a winning one—but do not ignore her in exotics.
