Haskell contenders put in final preparations for Sunday’s event

With just 24 hours to go until Monmouth Park’s signature event, the $1 million Haskell Invitational (G1), the competitors made their final trips to the track Saturday morning.
In post position order:
Nyquist – Reddam Racing LLC’s son of Uncle Mo jogged a mile over the main track with good energy at 7:30 a.m. (ET) according to trainer Doug O’Neill.
Sunny Ridge – Dennis Drazin’s Grade 3 winner galloped a mile and a half around 6 a.m. according to trainer Jason Servis.
Awesome Slew – Live Oak Plantation’s son of Awesome Again out of Slewfoundmoney galloped a mile and a half over the main track this morning.
Gun Runner – Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC, Three Chimneys Farm and Besilu Stables’ son of Candy Ride galloped a mile earlier than the designated time for Haskell horses (7:30-7:45 a.m.) according to assistant trainer Scott Blasi.
American Freedom – Gary and Mary West’s Grade 3 winner was the first one onto the track in the time set aside for Haskell participants only (7:30-7:45 a.m.) and galloped a strong mile and three-eighths at 7:30 a.m. according to assistant trainer Jimmy Barnes.
Exaggerator – Big Chief Racing LLC, Head of Plains Partners LLC and Rocker O Ranch LLC’s Preakness champ jogged about a mile with a pony this morning at 7:45 a.m.
