November 12th, 2020

Handicapper Tim Holland has a pair of selections for Churchill Downs, and Thursday picks for Laurel Park, Woodbine, and Golden Gate Fields.

Churchill Downs

Race 8

Trainer DeVaux has been winning with 16% of her first-time starters and saddles #6 Dame Cinco (12-1), a debuting daughter of speedy young sire Cinco Charlie, who is a half-sister to five winners. Filly cost $200K earlier this year and has posted several good works for DeVaux, who wins with 12% of her runners overall in maiden special weight events. Bay appears ready for a good first outing under Hernandez, who has won with one of his last six rides for the barn.

Race 9

#8 Perjury Trap (4-1) closed to finish fourth over a mile at Saratoga in his latest in July, from which race the winner, Don Juan Kitten finished a close second in the Saranac (G3) in his next outing. Son of Blame has won one of his two starts on grass and trainer Brown wins with 30% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Dark bay has been working well and can be along late under Gaffalione, who has won with 30% of his rides for the barn in the past 60 days.

Laurel Park

Race 4

#3 Not On My Watch (12-1) was not a factor as the favorite in her debut over 6 furlongs at Delaware last month, but trainer Russell wins with 31% of her second-time starters. Daughter of promising young sire Not This Time is out of a mare by Tiznow and Russell has won with 34% of her runners at this meet. Dark bay may show more here with Sheldon Russell riding.

Carryover Alert: Jackpot Pick-6 of $10,851.18

Woodbine

Race 1

2-year-olds on the main track include #2 Jacoba (10-1), who broke his maiden despite showing greenness in his latest over 7 furlongs in September in his second outing. Trainer Squires has won with 15% of his runners at this meet and son of good new sire Laoban is a half-brother to three other winners. Colt has worked steadily since his latest and can be in good early position with Ramsammy remaining aboard.
