Holland's North American free racing picks for Nov. 20

Tim Holland has a couple of selections for Aqueduct, as well as picks for Churchill Downs, Laurel Park, and Remington Park on Friday.

Churchill Downs

Race 8

#4 Twilight Fantasy (5-1) has not raced since closing to finish a troubled fifth behind the talented Echo Town at Oaklawn in February. Son of Violence has a win from three career starts and has been working well for trainer Sharp, who wins with 21% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Colt can be in good position from the start under Hernandez, who has won with two of his last four rides for the barn.

Aqueduct

Race 6

Some well-bred maidens on grass include #5 Palamos (9-2), who finished fourth after being a touch rank early in her debut over a mile at Keeneland last month. Daughter of Blame is a full-sister to Mrs. Sippy, who won the Glens Falls (G2), and trainer Motion wins with 18% of his second-time starters. Bay can be along from off the pace under Alvarado, who won with his latest ride for the barn.

Race 7

Plenty of early speed should help the chances of #9 Playtone (8-1), who closed to finish second over 7 furlongs in her latest at Aqueduct last month, her third start after a long break. Trainer Weaver has won with 21% of his runners this year and daughter of Tonalist has won one of her three starts on this oval. Filly can be along late with Lezcano retaining the mount.

Laurel Park

Race 5

#2 Uno Tigress (5-1) was claimed by Dale Bennett when easily breaking her maiden over 5 1/2 furlongs at Delaware in her latest last month. Daughter of Macho Uno posted a sharp 4 furlong work in 47 seconds this month for Bennett, who wins with 17% of his runners first time off the claim and with 31% that have not raced for 46-90 days. Bay can be forwardly placed from the start with Russell in the irons.

Remington Park

Race 4

Trainer Von Hemel wins with 12% of his first-time starters and saddles #8 Tango Kilo (12-1), a debuting son of decent young sire Brody’s Cause, who is out of a daughter of Kentucky Oaks (G1) runner-up Real Cozzy. Gelding has been working forwardly for Von Hemel, who has won with 18% of his runners since the beginning of this year. Gray is likely ready for a good first outing with Eramia up.
