Hoosier harness plays: July 7
(Each week, Cotolo employs money-management tactics to build wagers that focus on plump profits.)
For the program on July 7 at Hoosier Park, we suggest some horses for selected plays that may fit in any type of wager.
Race 4
It should be clear that #6 Sectionlinetwister is going to fire after being a beaten favorite shipping from Ohio, and yet he is not the Morning Line (ML) favorite. Good for a better price than available last week.
Always in action during a race, #7 Always A Gentleman will be engaged here, too, and the crowd could make him a major overlay.
Race 5
This is a tough race to make a personal odds line, so beware what prices you insist upon when choosing from a bunch of contenders. We spot #5 Joe Joe Joe, whom trainer Jesse Yoder kept on gait at Hawthorne and brings back to Hoosier with all intentions of plowing this field.
We like #3 J-s Jasper again this week after being rewarded second by judges in a troubled mile. He was a soft favorite then and in this field may offer more if the favorite or not.
Claimed, stepped up to lose, and returned to his winning class, #7 Limitless Winner (a Credit Winner sophomore) has what it takes to provide a double-digit win or to pump an exotic price up.
Race 6
Clearly, barring jumps or bumps or wheel-tangling, #2 Fleurie is the fastest of them all and should debut with a clear win, though she is not the ML favorite.
Second to the ML favorite in her recent qualifier, #6 All Star Swan is improving enough to be best of the rest here with a strong price.
Race 9
Competitive and cashing a lot, #2 Mclass offering near his ML of 8-1 should turn a few heads and inflate exotics to boot. The Bluto trotter, like most Bluto trotters, is rarely bet what he is truly worth.
Race 10
Robert Taylor’s stock is beginning to hit its stride, and #1 Pey Bug need only stay on stride to win this. He broke last time and still made up a ton of ground at 5-2 and today the ML is 8-1? He is a great key for exotics as well as an across-the-board investment.
Another 8-1 ML here is #6 Stellar Feller, whose 36-1 fourth was entirely miscalculated by the public. He is a danger to the winner, no less to chalk players.
