Hoosier Park Harness Race of the Week September 4

The 2nd Race at Hoosier Park on Wednesday is a one-mile trotting affair for sophomore fillies. The $12,500 event is for fillies who have not won an Indiana Sires Stakes contest this campaign, and a competitive field of six is entered.

ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (#4) (3-1) was just two lengths back against a superb field last time out and rates a big chance in here. The Guccio filly will not face anything like Measuredperfection today, and the bay lass was close while second best in her two outings prior to last week. Trained by Robert Reeser, Always Be With You had a lot of ground to make up most recently and should enjoy a more realistic chance while closer to the pace in this spot. Michael Oosting will be in the bike.
INFINITY STICK (#3) (7-2) has been off form in her last pair of assignments, but the three-year-old faces a much easier task on Wednesday. Also conditioned by Reeser, the filly has been knocking heads with some of the top sophomore fillies on the grounds and should appreciate the class relief here. The Big Stick Lindy filly missed a turn leading up to her latest performance, and I think she will be more fit against this group. Sam Widger will be in the bike.
Morning-line choice HAYLIE IVY (#6) (8-5) dismantled a few in this field most recently with a 5 ½-length victory at short odds. The Airzoom Lindy filly is a five-time winner this campaign and will improve today in just a third race in five weeks. The bay placed in three different legs of the Sires Stakes this season and drawing outside in the compact field could be an advantage. The Ricky Macomber pupil will be driven by Ricky Macomber Jr.
TATIANA ROMANOVA (#1) (4-1) is a one-run closer well drawn inside to save ground to the top of the stretch. The Roger Welch trainee was mostly outrun when facing Sires Stakes fields, but she fits in well against this kind. By Guccio, the brown filly will try to run them down late with John De Long in the controls.
