Grade 3 winner #1 Happy Farm is the controlling speed of the race off the layoff.

Gravesend Contenders

#1 HAPPY FARM -- Runner-up in the race in December 2019 has raced just once since that performance, but the gelding looms large in his first for Linda Rice. Florida-bred has been first or second in seven of eight on the oval, and he will be sent from the break by Jose Lezcano. The 7-year-old is the one to catch and beat.

#2 DRAFTED -- Talented Field Commission gelding made a belated run in his return to the U.S. most recently for David Duggan. Multiple Group 3 winner will improve in his second start off the break from well off the early tempo with Dylan Davis in the controls.

#3 PETE’S PLAY CALL -- Rudy Rodriguez claim sports a 4-2-1-0 mark on the course and was last seen driving home a powerful allowance winner locally. Munnings chestnut is a consistently solid 8-year-old who fits well in this field for a barn that is so good fresh off the claim. Jorge Vargas will ride the stalker.

#4 MY BOY TATE -- Empire State-bred from the Nevin barn was a narrow second to a good one in the New York Stallion Series S. (Thunder Rumble division) in his latest venture. Boys at Toscanova gelding is a course specialist with a 9-5-2-1 local line, and his best showing makes him a win threat for sure. Manny Franco has the call.

#5 STAN THE MAN -- Multiple stakes victor is a five-time local hero who had a nice prep when second-best in the Fall Highweight (G3) last time out. Son of Broken Vow was very good in sprint races in 2020, and he shows a bullet 5 panels in preparation for his 7-year-old bow as well.
