How to bet the Valedictory Stakes on Woodbine's closing-day

A cast of 11 will vie in the $125,000 Valedictory S. (G3) at Woodbine on Sunday. The closing-day feature is led by even-money choice and defending champion Pumpkin Rumble, who looks like an imposing force in the field.

#2 CHANGI (15-1) -- Exotics contender from the Jeanne Dolan barn was a facile winner on the turf at Fair Grounds last time out. Inconsistent sort has some stakes experience, and he could hang around for a share with a lifetime best beneath David Moran.

#3 HIGH NOON RIDER (12-1) -- Distorted Humor gelding led at every call in an All-Weather debut at Presque Isle in advance of today. Bay has won three in succession, but he faces a big class hike in this endeavor. Rafael Hernandez will be in the silks.

#4 AUNTIE KATHERINE (30-1) -- Haynesfield has finished first or second in four-of-five at Woodbine with a smart runner-up result most recently. Chestnut faces a tall task with the boys at the graded level, however.

#5 PUMPKIN RUMBLE (1-1) -- Standout eight-year-old towers over his foes from a class standpoint and aims for a repeat in the event. Keystone State-bred is a four-time winner on the Tapeta, and he will be impossible to knock off with his best performance.

#6 SURPRISE TWIST (3-1) -- Arnaud Delacour pupil makes his synthetic debut in his first graded test on this occasion. Son of Elusive Quality has finished second in three of four recent stakes tries, and the five-year-old is an obvious top-three contender under Patrick Husbands.

#7 THEREGOESJOJO (10-1) -- In-form son of English Channel has been first or second in six straight outings since removing the blinkers. Four-year-old gelding has a big turn of foot, and he could get a share with another forward move today. Kaz Kimura has the call.

#8 FEARSOME (8-1) -- European import is the wildcard in the field coming off a stakes win in his initial start in North America. Five-year-old gelding has extensive All-Weather experience, and the distance will pose no problem for him in the Valedictory. Emma-Jayne Wilson picks up the mount.

#9 ABOVE ALL NAMES (30-1) -- Blair Miller pupil was a smart allowance winner on the course two prior and will face the boys today. Three-year-old daughter of Skipshot is a mystery at the trip coming off a seven-furlong test, and she will have Justin Stein riding.

#10 AMMUNITION (50-1) -- Bullet Train gelding was game in narrowly defeating maiden claiming foes on the turf, but this is a massive class hike for the gelding. Four-year-old would be a shocker in this spot.

#11 SIR SAHIB (12-1) -- Fort Larned four-year-old draws widest in the cast for Kevin Attard. Dark bay was twice graded stakes placed running marathons on the turf this campaign, and his prep on the oval last out will have him set up well for Sunday. Luis Contreras will bring the Kentucky-bred contender from off the pace today.
