Palm Beach Connections
An exciting new Tournament is coming our way in December with the inaugural BetAmerica $25,000 Floridian at the beautiful Naples/Ft. Myers greyhound track. Up to 32 top notch racers from around the Sunshine State will compete for the honor of being the State Champion of Florida in the 550 yard sprint distance, along with an automatic berth to the National Championship race on January 23rd in Daytona Beach.
What makes this setup a bit different then most others you have seen in our sport is that this can be deemed a knockout Tourney. Three rounds starting on December 16th advance the top 4 finishers in each race. If your greyhound does not get into the top 4 in any of the qualifying rounds, you are out. Have to bring your A game each race! The Final will be the day after Christmas on December 26th.
Palm Beach will of course have representatives trying to bring home a championship. There are also other greyhounds in the field that have run on the Royal Palm Course at some point in their career. Lets take a look at the connections that Palm Beach has in this Tournament.
Palm Beach Representatives
O Ya Raspberry – Janie Carroll Kennel
In my opinion, this is the best shot Palm Beach has at winning this thing. Currently on a 3 race winning streak and does possess a sweet rush/close combo. A chance to show off her talent on the big stage.

Omega Point – B & B Racing
Owned by nationally recognized owner Steve Schlachter, Omega started off at Palm Beach and transferred to Southland. Was a AA winner in West Memphis, Arkansas. Probably is suited more for the 3/8ths Mile, but any racer run by this owner always has a chance.

Windy Maddie – B & B Racing
Started her career in January of last year and quickly became a Grade A constant. The Puppy Stakes Finalist does possess the rush to compete with most fields she is in. Transferred over to Naples within the past week in anticipation for this Tourney.
Sg’s Ernie Banks – Janie Carroll Kennel
The newest racer to Palm Beach of all the participants. The nearly 4 year old greyhound has run multiple stints at Naples in her career and the experience could pay off.

Gamma Flash – B & B Racing
Just recently transferred to Naples as an in house entry for this Tournament, but has been a Palm Beach lifer. Owns the fastest split on the Rhonda Course (660 Yards -37.43 secs) this season. This is a hound that could challenge Ethel Is Here in this February’s Derby Championship.
Palm Beach Alumni

Albatross
“The Big Bird” nearly pulled off the undefeated Grade Ladder to begins his career at Palm Beach and is a veteran of two Stakes Finals.
Jw Wyatt Earp
The veteran of 4 tracks ran this summer and fall at Palm Beach, getting three Grade A victories.
Lazy K Myth Jill
The Rader Racing alumni recently just transferred to Naples within the past few weeks. Was able to get to Grade A at Palm. Dominant in her first race at Naples on 11/19, winning by 10 lengths.
HotFoot Beyonce
Started her career at “The Beach” last December. Is the sister of Hotfoot Rhianna & HotFoot Pink, who both currently run here.
The entire Tournament field should be announced in the next few weeks. Greyhounds fans from around the country should find this field competitive and thrilling to watch and play. More details to come in the coming weeks.
