Race 3: To kick off the pick-6 on Thursday at Santa Anita most players focusing on the special weight dropper TASHA'S COURAGE for trainer Janet Armstrong. SENOR PEGASUS looks second best while PERFECTLY LEGAL would be interesting if bet.
Race 4: INNER GROVE just blitzed similar by eight and one-quarter lengths in November and was claimed by trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. 4-5 on the line in and likely to go lower. ELTONINADRESS would be the logical one if going two deep.
Race 5: Apprentice to Hall-of-Famer for ONE TIME ONLY, making the filly the one to beat in the one mile maiden turf race. LARIA comes off a two month layoff and will be running on late. SHIRLANKA and BELONGING fit with DREAMY BLUES the threat to go wire-to-wire.
Race 6: Tough starter optional claiming race with E EQUALSMCSQUARED the morning line 5-2 favorite. She is dropping out of five straight stakes race and may simply out-class this field. If using more, SENZA FINA, A P PEPPER, IN DAD'S HONOR and SUSANS EXPRESS all look similar. SWISSARELLA may be the speed of the speed. Single or "all" type of race.
Race 7: BOAT TRIP has not been two turns since July 2012, but off his Hollywood Turf Express win he is ready to stretch out. He should get a decent pace to run into with Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner REGALLY READY and front-runner MY BEST BROTHER entered as well as pace-pressers NO SILENT and BIO PRO. LONGVIEW DRIVE is the long shot in the field and is another that could add pace stretching out from four straight sprints.
Race 8: Looks like now is the time for SIDEBAR, dropping out of a maiden special weight into this maiden claimer for a trainer/jockey combination that hit at 26% last year at Santa Anita. SILK IN SILVER makes his second career start after finishing second at 15-1 in his debut at Hollywood Park last month. FULL'S DRESS CODE is an interesting debut runner with a decent work tab, TRES OSOS drops from maiden special weight races as does TEACHER TEACHER. SHAND is winless in nine starts and will win one eventually.
