Belmont Park race 8 | 4:57 pm ET OC 62k / N2X for 3&up going 6.5f

1-Start Jumping (trainer scratch)

2-Bemata: in off the win and has been very consistent since the freshening

3-Ithastobegeorge: has shown flashes of ability, but tends to find a wide or troubled trip

4-Bet the Power: steps back up to this level & always runs his race

5-Dighton: too consistent, so line-through last

6-Piquant (trainer scratch)

7-Quick Money: always right there at the wire

1A-Johannesburg Smile: consistent against state-bred company & keeps bug weight as he's back in against the open ranks

New York is one of the few remaining states to still have a Coupled Entry rule: when horses in the same race have the same owner, they run as one betting interest. In this case, David Jacobsen trains two runners for Drawing Away Stable, so they are 1 & 1A. Even though one of them scratched the other remains in the field and is unaffected.

I think you're going to get a really good price on the 5-Dighton given what a clunker he threw in last out. You also definitely have to use the 2-Bemata and 4-Bet the Power along with the favored 7-Quick Money.

Picks: 2 - 5 - 7 - 4
