Player Quick Pick: Belmont for 6/19/2014
by Mel Daniels
Belmont Park race 9 | 5:47 pm ET Allowance for 3&up NY-bred going 1 mi.
4 Noble Cornerstone This 3yo gelding by Noble Causeway is making only his 6th start today. This lightly raced horse was formerly trained by Wesley Ward. He is now trained by Thomas Morley. Two starts back in the Grade 3 Gotham, he was fractious in the gate and went 3 and 4 wide the whole way and tired late. He will be making his 2nd start after a long layoff.
9 Wake Up In Malibu This 3yo gelding is making only his 3rd start today. He broke his maiden last time out. He went 4 wide and vied against the turn and when he was let loose, he edged away to win by 1 3/4 lengths in the mud. If it gets sloppy out today, don't be afraid to put this one on top.
7 Beyond Empire This 4yo gelding is trained by Kiaran Mclaughlin. He has 6 career starts placing in 4 of those while winning 1. In his last start on May 24th, he went 3 wide at the top of the turn was no match for Frost Jordan. He still held on for a solid second.
Picks: 7-9-4
Long shot play is on the 2 Petrocelli
Good luck and have fun!
