Player Quick Pick for 3/27/2014
by Mel Daniels
Santa Anita race 5 | 6:03 pm ET Claiming (25-22) for 3&up F&M going 1 mi. (T)
3 Incredible Journey This filly by Lemon Drop Kid is rounding into form, making her 4th start after a seven month layoff. Two starts back against the same on turf, she stalked the pace and went 4 wide an 1/8 out, finishing 3rd only 1 1/2 lengths from winning.
4 Luckyvic This well tried veteran of the bunch loves being the bridesmaid. In 29 career starts, she has finished second 9 times with just 1 winning effort. Adding top jockey Cory Nakatani could very well be the difference today.
7 Lord Kitra This lightly raced filly with just 6 starts won her first race 2 starts back. She was off the track for nearly a year before returning Feb.22. She stalked the pace but faded late. No doubt she was needing that race after the layoff. Takes a significant drop in class and should be the front runner.
My wagers are 7 - 4 - 3
Good luck and have fun!
