Player Quick Pick: Santa Anita, May 26, 2014

May 26th, 2014

Santa Anita 7 | 7:350 pm ET G1 Gamely for 3&Up F&M going about 1-1/8 mi (T)

No massive Rainbow 6 pool on Memorial Day, but there is a pick-6 carryover at Santa Anita of just over $94,000. In the sequence is the Grade 1 Gamely for fillies and mares on the turf. So far in 2014 EMOLLIENT has been a disappointment, losing both her starts at odd-on, but she may be a good bet in the Gamely. The pace of the race does not seem all that fast on paper leaving new pilot Rosie Napravnik the perfect opportunity to steal the race on the front end. Two starts back STORMY LUCY beat EMOLLIENT and several others squarely on the nose in the Santa Ana then came right back to win the Grade 3 Santa Barbara. Joe Talamo will be aboard for the first time with Rafael Bejarano on the sidelines and he must time his ride better than he did on Saturday with Quick Casanova. MISS SERENDIPITY is the trip horse, projected to be just off the speed and get first run. She was third in the Santa Ana and second in the Santa Barbara. Win or lose, she is a must use in any trifecta or superfecta wager. PARRANDA may be ranked too low as she won the Grade 3 Wilshire last month and won a Grade 3 race at Gulfstream Park in February. Her best races make her a strong contender.
