If the post-time odds are anywhere near the morning line odds of 7-2 on Occasional View, the G3 Vigil may end up being a steal

MOST PROBABLE WINNER: 6-Occasional View

Having won his first start of 2014 campaign (yes, he finished his 2013 campaign on January 11 of this year, but was on the shelf until April 12) in the G3 Commonwealth at Keeneland, Occasional View is looking to win back-to-back stakes wins for the first time in his career. The last time this horse raced at Woodbine, with Omar Moreno on top, he JUST missed winning the G2 Autumn Stakes. Here he looks to go a perfect 3-for-3 at the 7 furlong distance. Delegation will take some money (his Woodbine record is stellar), but since he’s not raced since October of last year, Occasional View is the winner here. Bet him with confidence. A single in multi-race bets.

VALUE HORSE: 3-Bear No Joke

Trainer Reade Baker finally got off the schneid yesterday, after going 0-for-20 in his first races of this Woodbine meet. He’s much better than that, and the “Bears” of Woodbine have proven to be money-makers. At 8-1 on the morning line,and coming off some really good works on this Woodbine track, Bear No Joke can hit the board and help with the exotic prices, even with a short-priced favorite winning. In 14 starts here, he’s won 5, placed 5 times, and has a show to his credit. Play him.

OTHERS TO CONSIDER: 5-Dynamic Sky Mark Casse at Woodbine with a 15-1 morning line shot who’s 5-2-0-3 and a win and a show in two career 7 furlong races? I’ll take that. Dynamic Sky isn’t a G1 or G2 horse, but is a very capable G3 and non-graded stakes horse. He’s a contender for the board.
