Pool 1 of Kentucky Derby Future Wager open ahead of Breeders' Cup
The first of six future wager pools for the 2027 Kentucky Derby (G1) will be offered this week beginning at noon ET on Wednesday. Wagering on Pool 1 will close at 4 p.m. on Friday in advance of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Keeneland, which has a scheduled post time of 4:55 p.m.
There are 38 individual options in Pool 1, an option for all fillies (#39), and an option for all other colts and geldings (#40). The morning line on the latter option is 6-5.
Champagne (G1) winner #37 U. S. S. Valor, who is bypassing the Juvenile, was installed at 8-1 on the morning line. All eight Breeders’ Cup Juvenile entries were included in the KDFW, including likely Juvenile favorite #10 Hughes (10-1).
Pool 1 offers $2 Win and Exacta wagering. Fans can place wagers at simulcast outlets across the country and at TwinSpires.com.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. If Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s pool that one of the wagering interests experiences an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
More information, Brisnet.com past performances and real-time odds on the Kentucky Derby Future Wager will be available before the pool opens Wednesday at KentuckyDerby.com.
Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 and the Sire Future Wager will run Nov. 26-29. The final four pools will take place in early 2027: Pool 3 (Jan. 15-17); Pool 4 (Feb. 12-14); Pool 5 (March 12-14) and Pool 6 (April 1-3). For the first time, the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager will be offered twice, running concurrently with Pools 5 and 6.
