Rosecroft Card Will Cap Election Night
While millions of Americans will head to the polls tomorrow across the country to vote for candidates and referendums, standardbred racing fans will look to conclude the evening by cashing tickets on races that will have definitive winners.
Tuesday's card at Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland, basically within the shadow of the nation's capitol where much of the election speculation will finally end late tomorrow night or early Wednesday morning, offers some intrigue and potential value.
In the opening race on the card, Rebel Soldier (Kim Vincent) descends into a very winnable spot when he leaves from post four in a non-winners of $2500 last five starts class for pacers. A six-year-old Quik Pulse Mindale gelding owned, bred and trained by Steve Warrington of Sanabelle Island fame, Rebel Soldier has spent the first two months of the meet in the non-winners of $4000 last five class but gets some relief on Tuesday and gets the nod over Cracker Pullet and Yankee Cruiser.
Two races later in another non-winners of $2500 last five class for older pacers, Dante Seelster (Roger Plante, Jr.) also gets some serious class relief while leaving from post four for owner-trainer Clyde Oglesby, Jr. Dante Seelster has been in against much tougher in his four local tries after arriving from Pocono Downs and finally draws a favorable post and that combination should launch him into the winner's circle over A Wild Impulse, P L Hoofhearted and Happy New Year.

Doggone Slots, Brilliance Hanover and Meadowlands returnee I Luv Blackhawkred will all merit respect in this spot.
Then one race later in a non-winners of $6000 last five starts class for older pacers, Caviart Tyler (Roberts) drops out of the Open Handicap for Roberts and back into a class that he won handily on Oct. 25. But Zoeeez Boy Henry (Frank Milby) steps up off a sharp, first over score against non-winners of $4000 last five company. Shady Breeze makes his second start of the year following a lengthy layoff for Welty, while Arpeggio Hanover moves up off a sharp score on Oct. 25 against non-winners of $4000 last five company and Concert Artist descends from the Open following a third-place finish for owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson.
Then one race later in the featured $10,500 Winners Over class for pacers, JW Renegade (John Mackinnon) seeks to regain the form that carried him to two previous scores here, while Hickory Aloha and Diamondkeeper both drop out of the Open Hcp. Hide Me Away won this class last week, while Rocktavius won it two starts back. Hi Sir is certainly no stranger to winning the upper classes here for owner-trainer-driver Russell Foster and should be able to work out a trip from post nine in the second tier.
