Santa Anita - Starter Allowance, May 17, 2014

Santa Anita 11 | 8:27 pm ET Starter Allowance for 3&Up going 6.5f

There is a pick-6 carryover of over $52,000 on Saturday at Santa Anita with the feature race the Grade 3 American on the turf. That race; however, is not part of the pick-6 so we will look at the day's last race, a wide open starter allowance. FIGHT THE POWER goes first off the claim for trainer Cody Autrey, a trainer that is based out of south west, shipping in from Oaklawn Park. The four-year-old gelding won a race at Del Mar last year and has only been worse than third once in his eight career starts. Of course he also only has one win.

NO EZ MONEY was a solid maiden winner in his second start in March and now comes back with a solid work tab. He may face pace pressure early from GLITTER OF SLIVER and that could set things up for the uncoupled John Sadler entry of ROCKED TWICE and PRESIDING JUSTICE. ROCKED TWICE has not run since December while PRESIDING JUSTICE makes his second career start and first for Sadler after making up 12 lengths to win going away in his debut three months ago.

ROMAR SUCCESS makes his second start off a 17 month layoff and should get a good stalking trip from post 11. Not an easy way to end the day, but with the right wager, it could be a lucrative one.
