Santa Anita - State-Bred Allowance, May 10, 2014

May 10th, 2014

Santa Anita 8 | 7:44 pm ET State-Bred Allowance for 3&Up F&M going about 6.5f (T)

The first leg of the late double on Saturday at Santa Anita is a sprint down the hillside turf course and we are going to take a shot and bet on SUNSET SKIES for the Harris Farms and trainer Dan Blacker. SUNSET SKIES has not been out since breaking her maiden by almost nine in July 2013, but has been working well in the mornings and is bred to handle the surface switch. SWEET BOSS cuts back in distance after a sixth place finish at a flat mile last month. Mike Smith will get in the irons for the first time, but the rail is no easy draw. On paper, the pace should be fast with COPPEROPOLIS, ADRIATIC SKYE, QUEEN OF THE HILL and YES SHE'S UNUSUAL, which helps the chances of VEGAS RULES, who has the second most number of wins in the field and the highest money earned. Jockey Corey Nakatani rides the turf very well, look for him late. This looks to be a spread race in any multi-leg wager.
