SOUTHLAND Preview - FLYING FIRED UP Wins
Friday evening at Southland was highlighted by the running of the inaugural KINGS VS QUEENS Classic Challenge and featured nine very talented greyhounds going paw to paw in their battle for the win and in a very close and competitive race, it was FLYING FIRED UP who came away with the KINGS vs QUEENS crown. The stirring stretch win by FLYING FIRED UP follows his 2015 Southland Derby Sprint stakes win in July and his 2nd place finish in the recently completed Festival Of Stakes contest. He will be invited to run in the prestigious DAYTONA 550 national championship race which will be held on Saturday, January 23 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The 9 greyhounds that were entered in this KINGS vs QUEENS CLASSIC came from the recently completed 2015 Festival of Stakes with the top four finishers in the Female Sprint final (won by Mega Nerfetta) and the top four finishers in the Male Sprint final (won by Chasmo's Dutch) along with the Juvenile Champ winner chosen as the wildcard pick (Mega Blackboard) all getting a spot in this race.
