SOUTHLAND Preview - Sunday, September 13
Welcome to another Sunday twilight card of exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 entertaining races on tap for our viewing and wagering pleasure. As most of you who follow the Southland preview blog may know, from time to time I like to go outside the box to try and give different viewpoints and perspectives of greyhound racing. Over the last week or so I have been concentrating on greyhounds that have drawn the same box at least 3 times in a row to see how they do and if that gives them any extra edge that the wagering public might could use to their benefit. This included schooling races so if a greyhound had the same post position in a schooling contest and then drew that same box in an official contest it counted for this study. Keep in mind that on some programs there may not be any selections to be made but on others, there might be several that meet that definition. Remember that these are greyhounds that fit the criteria above and on which MoneyMaker Mike will base the selections. On Monday I will give a recap of the results so be sure to check back for that. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.

Race 7 - 583 yards - Grade A - CRT TOMMY HEARNS - 7 box - For the fourth straight time he has drawn the 7 box and he's coming off a huge 12 length win last time out so I sure wouldn't overlook him here.
Race 12 - 660 yards - Grade C - FLYING MACHETE - 1 box - Last two times from the one box he finished 4th and 6th, could the third time be the charm for this inside running greyhound. His last win came 6 races ago from the one box so very capable of a big effort here.
Race 16 - 703 yards - Grade C - PROFITEEA - 2 box - She gets the 2 box for the 3rd straight time and she does have a big 7 length win from this box along with an 8th place finish in the previous two races over this course. She doesn't have a favorable post position for her wide running style but a money finish isn't out of the question.
Race 18 - 660 yards - Grade AA - B'S HEADLINER - She gets the three box once again and with 20 top four finishes in 26 races I wouldn't overlook this one here as she is a hard runner no matter what box she draws. She's a mid to wide runner who can go early, it won't surprise me to see a solid run by her in this one.
Good luck to all.
