Three-year-old pacers earn spotlight

November 29th, 2015

Tomorrow evening at Dover Downs the best three-year-old pacer in the land will put the finishing touches on his horse of the year campaign, while this past Saturday night another pacing sophomore continued his newfound success.

Tomorrow night at Dover Downs, Wiggle It Jiggleit (Montrell Teague) will look to cap his sophomore season with a victory in the $300,000 Hap Hansen Progress Pace final. Having already won 21 of 25 starts and over $2 million this year, Wiggle It Jiggleit will be champion three-year-old colt pacer, pacer of the year and horse of the year regardless of how well he performs in the Hap Hansen Progress Pace final one week after taking the elim in 1:49.

Wiggle It Jiggleit has already won several major stakes, including the Meadowlands Pace, Little Brown Jug, Battle of the Brandywine and Matron Stakes during a busy campaign that began in January. He will garner a trio of trophies next March at the annual USHWA Dan Patch Awards banquet.

On Saturday night at Rosecroft, Elusive Point (Donald Dancer) notched his third straight victory and his fourth win in nine career outings when he led throughout to capture a conditioned event in 1:55.3.

A sophomore son of Art Major owned and trained by Dancer, Elusive Point won all three of his starts in November and looks to be a rising star on the local circuit. Elusive Point was originally trained by Ron Burke, but never made an official start for him. He has won four of nine starts and earned $12,400 since Dancer purchased him for $18,000 at the Meadowlands sale.
