Five-figure and six-figure Pick 6 carryovers at Aqueduct and Santa Anita are among the betting highlights on the final Saturday in September.
Aqueduct, Race 7: $110,188 Pick 6 carryover (3:39 p.m. ET)
After going unsolved for two days in a row, the $1 Pick 6 at Aqueduct features a double carryover worth $110,188 for Saturday’s stakes-packed card.

One of the stakes is Race 8, the Gallant Bloom (G2) for fillies and mares sprinting 6 1/2 furlongs over the main track. #1 R Disaster (3-1) is a logical favorite. Never out of the exacta in 11 starts, the daughter of Awesome Slew has placed in three graded stakes this year and exits a gate-to-wire win in a $100,000 allowance optional claimer at Saratoga. Brisnet Speed ratings suggest she’s the filly to beat.
But two others warrant inclusion in the Pick 6. #9 Sunday Girl (10-1) boasts five wins and a second from six starts over the Aqueduct dirt. Last winter, she won a six-furlong $62,500 allowance optional claimer with a flashy 100 Brisnet Speed rating.
Meanwhile, three-year-old filly #8 Senza Parole (7-2) is a must-use contender after ending a long layoff with a close runner-up finish in a six-furlong allowance at Saratoga. Last year, she smashed a six-furlong maiden special weight at Saratoga by 7 3/4 lengths, earning a 98 Brisnet Speed rating. The Gallant Bloom marks only her third career start, so Senza Parole has lots of upside for hot trainer Chad Brown.
Pick 6 bettors in search of a single should check out Race 12, a six-furlong maiden special weight for New York-bred juvenile fillies. #1 Hot Currency (7-2) debuted with a respectable runner-up finish over this class level at Saratoga, earning a 75 Brisnet Speed rating that tops Saturday’s field. Under hot jockey Flavien Prat, Hot Currency is a compelling choice to step forward and deliver victory for trainer Linda Rice, a 20% winner with second-time starters.
Santa Anita, Race 5: $28,475 Pick 6 carryover (6:06 p.m. ET)
If you’re looking for a horse to single in Saturday’s $2 Pick 6 at Santa Anita—which features a $28,475 carryover—we recommend #7 Full Serrano (2-1) in Race 9, the 1 1/8-mile Goodwood (G1).
Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner and Pacific Classic (G1) runner-up recently returned from a long layoff to smash a one-mile $100,000 allowance optional claimer at Del Mar by 7 1/4 lengths. His key Goodwood rival, #4 First Mission (8-5), exits a defeat against easier competition and has historically struggled at the Grade 1 level, so we’re confident Full Serrano’s abundant speed and proven Grade 1 prowess will win the day.
Good luck!
