Colonial: How to bet the all-stakes $2,936 Pick 6 carryover

August 9th, 2025

Arlington Million (G1) day at Colonial Downs just got even better with a $2,936 carryover up for grabs in the “Old Dominion 6” Pick 6.

The 50-cent wager gets underway in Race 6 (post time 2:36 p.m. ET) and is comprised exclusively of stakes, including three graded stakes.

Let’s take a race-by-race look at the sequence and assemble a ticket for under $100.

Colonial Downs Pick 6 wager

  • 20-cent Pick 6: 2,3,4,9 with 1,2,3,5 with 4,9,12 with 4,8 with 2 with 1,8 ($96)

Race 6: Tyson Gilpin S. (seven furlongs on dirt)

#9 Decadent (5-1) has opened her career with back-to-back wins for hot trainer Kenny McPeek, who has gone 5-for-17 (29%) at Colonial this meet. But if she’s short of peak form in her first start since March, #2 Impulse Buy (4-1), #3 Reputation (6-1), and #4 Zaghruta (12-1) are logical alternatives.

Race 7: Andy Guest S. (5 1/2 furlongs on turf)

There are plenty of viable win threats in this grass dash for fillies and mares. We’ll spread deep with #1 B G Warrior (8-1), #2 Mrs. Gambolini (3-1), #3 Hollywood Walk (4-1), and #5 Crown Imperial (9-2).

Race 8: Van Clief S. (5 1/2 furlongs on turf)

#4 Nobals (3-1), winner of the 2023 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1), is a formidable grass dasher on his best day. But he exits a third-place finish against #9 Bear River (30-1) and #12 Coppola (9-2) in the KY Downs Preview Turf Sprint S. at Ellis Park, and those two loom as formidable rivals once again.

Race 9: Secratariat (G2, one mile on turf)

#8 Dream On (5-2) is an obvious contender after winning the Woodhaven S. and Penn Mile (G3) in succession, but #4 Simulate (8-1) might have an even stronger win chance. He enters off a 2 1/4-length victory in a 1 1/16-mile $100,000 allowance optional claimer at Saratoga, for which he earned a 95 Brisnet Speed rating equal to Dream On’s best number.

Race 10: Beverly D. (G2, 1 3/16 miles on turf)

#2 Be Your Best (9-5) has won her last four starts over firm turf, all at the graded stakes level. She exits a decisive 2 3/4-length score in the Gamely (G1) and looms as a viable single while dropping in class for the Beverly D.

Race 11: Arlington Million (G1, 1 1/4 miles on turf)

#8 Integration (8-5) is a logical favorite after finishing second in the Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1), Maker’s Mark Mile (G1), and Manhattan (G1) this year. But don’t leave out 2024 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner #1 Mystik Dan, whose pedigree offers potential for success on turf. His willingness to save ground behind and inside of rivals should lead to a favorable trip from post 1.

Good luck!
