Colonial: How to bet the Arlington Million Day $13,564 Pick 6 carryover

Saturday’s Arlington Million Day program at Colonial Downs includes a $13,564 carryover in the 50-cent “Old Dominion 6” Pick 6.

The all-stakes sequence spans Race 6 through Race 11 and kicks off at approximately 2:27 p.m. ET.

Here’s how we recommend betting the Pick 6:

• 50-cent Pick 6: 2 with 5,7,8,10 with 7,9,12,13 with 3,9 with 6,8,9 with 5,6 ($96)

Race 6: Tyson Gilpin S. (seven furlongs on dirt)

#2 Mashallah (6-5) is 2-for-2 sprinting, most recently trouncing a 6 1/2-furlong $100,000 allowance optional claimer at Saratoga by seven lengths. She owns the two highest Brisnet Speed ratings in the Tyson Gilpin field and looms as a logical single to start the Pick 6.

Race 7: Reigh Count S. (seven furlongs on dirt)

#7 Bracket Buster (5-2), runner-up in the 2025 Travers (G1), is the morning-line favorite, but he’s done his best work in route races and could be vulnerable while cutting back in distance. The multiple Grade 1-placed #8 Crazy Mason (3-1), recent $100,000 allowance optional claiming winner #10 Verifire (7-2), and the occasionally flashy #5 Illuminare (9-2) are obvious alternatives with proven sprinting form.

Race 8: Van Clief S. (5 1/2 furlongs on turf)

There are many viable contenders in this competitive 14-horse field. We’ll aim to survive using defending Van Clief winner #7 Witty (12-1), South African Group 1 winner #9 Isivunguvungu (20-1), last year’s Quick Call (G3) conqueror #12 Governor Sam (7-2), and the multiple Grade 1-placed #13 My Boy Prince (3-1).

Race 9: Secretariat (G2) (1 1/16 miles on turf)

#9 Alpyland (9-5) is a logical favorite after winning four stakes this year, including the Penn Mile (G3) and American Derby by daylight margins. But don’t underestimate #3 Supercharger (7-2), who has launched sharp rallies to win back-to-back maiden special weight and allowance races over 1 1/8 miles at Churchill Downs.

Race 10: Beverly D. (G2) (1 3/16 miles on turf)

#8 Stellify (3-1) boasts a 4-for-5 record racing 1 1/8 miles to 1 1/2 miles on turf, including a triumph in the Ladies Marathon (G3) at Kentucky Downs. But she hasn’t raced since finishing seventh in the 2025 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1), so the layoff is at least a small question mark. As backup, we’ll use #6 Achieve (8-1) and #9 Gimme a Nother (9-2). The former has won three starts in a row; the latter enters off back-to-back graded wins.

Race 11: Arlington Million (G1) (1 1/4 miles on turf)

#5 Burnham Square (5-2) has won three stakes in a row, including the Elkhorn (G2) and Louisville (G3) over 1 1/2 miles, but shortening up to 1 1/4 miles is an obstacle to overcome. #6 Test Score (9-2), winner of the Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1), could have upset potential.

Bonus carryover: $7,238 Super High 5 at Ellis Park

Saturday bettors may also wish to pursue the $7,238 carryover up for grabs in the $1 Super High 5 at Ellis Park.

The prize pool is on the table in Race 1 (post time 12:50 p.m. ET), a 1 1/8-mile maiden special weight for three-year-olds and older horses. We recommend keying #7 Stellenbosch (5-2) on top of your Super High 5 tickets. The Bob Baffert trainee got off to a slow start in his debut sprinting six furlongs at Churchill Downs, but nevertheless rallied to finish third with a sharp 91 Brisnet Speed rating.

Stellenbosch stumbled and lost his rider in his second start. Now he’s stretching out over 1 1/8 miles and removing blinkers, with the latter change being a 28% winning move for Baffert. Under hot jockey Francisco Arrieta, Stellenbosh is a compelling win contender.
