Delaware Park: Analyzing $30,299 and $48,647 Pick 5 carryovers

July 26th, 2025

Fans of Delaware Park, get ready. There are two five-figure Pick 5 carryovers to chase on Saturday.

Delaware Park, Race 1: $30,299 Pick 5 carryover (12:30 p.m. ET)
Delaware Park, Race 3: $48,647 Pick 5 carryover (1:34 p.m. ET)

The 50-cent Early Pick 5 features an enticing $30,299 prize pool. Meanwhile, the 50-cent Middle Pick 5 boasts an even larger $48,647 carryover.

The most important races to solve are Race 3, Race 4, and Race 5, since the two Pick 5s overlap in these legs. If you fail to find the winners of these races, you won’t win a share of either carryover.

Race 3 is a $32,000 starter optional claimer taking place over about five furlongs on turf. The five-year-old mare #5 Up for It (2-1) is favored while dropping in class off a sixth-place finish in the Goldwood S. at Monmouth Park, but she’s been in subpar form this year and could be vulnerable while facing male rivals.

#3 Hawkstone (9-2) is an interesting alternative. The three-year-old gelding recently ended a layoff with a fifth-place finish in a $40,000 claimer over the Monmouth Park turf. He’s eligible to improve in his second start back, and take note, he won a maiden special weight over Saturday’s course and distance last fall.

If Race 3 is rained off the turf, dirt specialist and main-track only entrant #2 Cloud Without Rein (8-1) should be viewed as a viable single.

Race 4 is a competitive maiden special weight for two-year-old sprinting six furlongs on dirt. #3 Let’s Go Lando (5-2) and #4 Mr. Supreme (2-1) look like the best of the experienced runners, but don’t dismiss first-time starter #6 Rock Etiquette (8-1), a filly facing males. She breezed a respectable five furlongs from the Delaware Park starting gate in 1:01 2/5 earlier this month.

Race 5 is a maiden special weight for fillies and mares racing about 7 1/2 furlongs on turf. Trainer Graham Motion has been on fire at Delaware this meet, going 8-for-21 (38%), so Motion’s first-time starter #4 Magica (3-1) is a must-use filly. #7 Lady Vintage (8-1), an unraced daughter of Kitten’s Joy from the hot barn of Michael Stidham, is another logical contender. Among the experienced runners, #1 Suitfourfourthree (10-1) and #3 Izzy Sweet Girl (4-1) appear capable of vying for victory.

Good luck!
