Gulfstream: How to bet the mandatory-payout $129,340 Rainbow Pick 6 carryover

June 15th, 2025

Are you planning to bet Sunday’s $129,340 Rainbow Pick 6 mandatory payout at Gulfstream Park? We’ve got you covered with a race-by-race analysis and a ~$67 ticket:

Race 4, 2:20 p.m. ET: Maiden Special Weight (five furlongs on turf)

#5 Brisa Veloz (5-2) and #9 Liz Loves Shopping (2-1) have both posted competitive Brisnet Speed ratings over this course and distance. They look like the best of the experienced runners in this field, and one or the other should be good enough to conquer the first-time starters.

Race 5: $20,000 Starter Optional Claiming (5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta)

#6 Mr Narcissistic (7-5) boasts three wins and two seconds from his last five starts sprinting over this track and class level. He brings strong Brisnet Speed ratings to the table and looms as a viable single while sticking to his preferred conditions.

Race 6: $25,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (five furlongs on turf)

#2 Hot Cargo (8-5) has won his last two starts over this course, distance, and class level, demonstrating hot form since being claimed by trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. He’s a formidable win threat, though Florida-bred #3 Happy Ride (4-1) has run a bit faster on the Brisnet Speed rating scale. We’ll use them both.

Race 7: $6,250 Claiming (one mile on dirt)

#1 Major King (3-1) decisively won a $6,250 claimer over this track and distance last month. #6 Zozan (7-2) was last seen nabbing an $8,000 claimer for non-winners of three races. #8 Speedy Hans (15-1) has shown some decent form on synthetic, and #11 Lace Up (5-2) recently trounced an $8,000 claimer sprinting seven furlongs at Gulfstream. One of these four ought to prevail.

Race 8: $62,500 Allowance Optional Claiming (1 1/16 miles on turf)

#4 Beach Gold (2-1) posted an easy 2 3/4-length victory over this course, distance, and class level on May 24. He’s a threat to win right back, though the graded stakes-experienced duo of #2 Eyes On the King (5-1) and #6 California Frolic (7-2) aren’t without win chances too.

Race 9: $12,500 Maiden Claiming (one mile and 70 yards on Tapeta)

A wide-open maiden claimer closes out the Pick 6. We’ll spread around and cover #1 Midnight Maestro (10-1), #2 Milazzo (12-1), #5 Artemus Wizard (9-2), #6 Live to Ride (7-2), #7 Try to Make Cents (5-2), #8 Il Marchesse (8-1), and #11 Just Buu (10-1).
