Horse racing to bet after the 2026 Belmont Stakes

June 6th, 2026

Updated: June 6th, 2026

Keep the winnings coming! If you’ve had a successful day betting the 2026 Belmont Stakes (G1) and want to keep the action rolling through the evening, there are many racetracks to play.

International options abound, with tracks in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia available to bet on TwinSpires. But there are also numerous stateside options, with Thoroughbred racing, Quarter Horse racing, and harness racing all on the agenda.

We’ve compiled a list of post-Belmont bets to consider at three different U.S. Thoroughbred racetracks:

Canterbury Park

A seven-race card at Canterbury Park kicks off at 6:10 p.m. ET, about an hour before the Belmont. Five races are taking place after the third leg of the Triple Crown.

One of the featured events is Race 4, the Lady Slipper S. for Minnesota-bred fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on dirt. #2 Thunders Rocknroll (3-5) is the heavy favorite, and deservedly so. Her 12-5-4-1 record over the Canterbury dirt includes a triumph in the 2024 Lady Slipper.

Thunders Rocknroll brings a bevy of sharp Brisnet Speed ratings into the 2026 Lady Slipper and will be tough to beat if she brings her A game. #3 Lover Girl (5-1), runner-up in the 2024 Lady Slipper, can complete the exacta while returning to Canterbury off six straight starts at Oaklawn Park.

  • Race 4: $25 Exacta: 2 with 3

Prairie Meadows

Prairie Meadows has nine races on the table. The card gets underway at 6:00 p.m. ET, about an hour before the Belmont, but seven of the races are taking place from 7:30 p.m. ET onward.

Race 8, a six-furlong dirt allowance for Iowa-bred three-year-olds who have never won three races, looks ripe for conquest by #2 Crux (8-5). As a juvenile at Prairie Meadows, he dominated his debut by four lengths before finishing second by a head in the Iowa Cradle S.

Crux recently kicked off his 2026 campaign with a neck defeat in a five-furlong allowance at Prairie Meadows. With that comeback effort under his belt, the bay gelding should be tough to beat. Keep in mind, he owns the two highest Brisnet Speed ratings in this field.

Among the other entrants, recent Prairie Meadows maiden winner #4 Hello Frankie (4-1) is intriguing, as he’s the only one who hasn’t been beaten by Crux at any point. We’ll use Hello Frankie to round out an exacta.

  • Race 8: $35 to win on #2 Crux
  • Race 8: $15 Exacta: 2 with 4
    Total: $50

Charles Town

The first of eight evening races at Charles Town is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET, so all but one race will take place after the Belmont.

In Race 7, a 6 1/2-furlong dirt allowance for Virginia-breds, #3 Life Is Daily (1-1) is a formidable favorite. The four-year-old gelding is unbeaten and unchallenged in three starts, including a pair of allowance wins at Charles Town.

Life Is Daily hasn’t run since August, but hot trainer David Walters wins at a 21% rate with horses returning from layoffs of 90 days or more, so the time away shouldn’t be an issue. It’s encouraging to note Life Is Daily enters off fast half-mile workouts at Charles Town, including one from the starting gate in :46 4/5.

Let’s bet Life Is Daily on top of an exacta using #4 Tricks R for Juba (6-1) for second place. Last year, Tricks R for Juba scored a three-length win in the West Virginia Vincent Moscarelli Memorial Breeders’ Classic S. over this track and distance.

  • Race 7: $25 Exacta: 3 with 4

Good luck!
